Actual Mortgage Deductions

                         
The average homeowner who deducts interest on his mortgage does get what can be called a middle class tax advantage. However, it is not what politicians describe as a major benefit. That’s because the  actual deduction is often less, overall, than the tax law’s standard offering.    y
